Dear Researchers,
The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP), supported under the Horizon Europe Programme of the European Commission, has issued a pre-announcement for its Third Joint Transnational Call, planned to be launched on 15 September 2025.
With the participation of more than 30 countries, this call aims to contribute to the green and digital transformation of economic activities related to oceans, seas, and coastal areas.
Applicants are required to form a consortium consisting of organizations from at least three different countries, each supported by a different funding organization. Additionally, the consortium must include at least two independent legal entities from EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. The maximum project duration is foreseen to be 36 months.
Call Priority Areas:
- Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTOs)
- Transformation of blue economy sectors and multi-use infrastructures at sea
- Climate-focused ocean planning at a regional scale
- Blue bio-resources: sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and new bio-based products
- Resilient coastal communities
Draft Call Timeline:
- Call Opening: 15 September 2025, 15:00 (CEST)
- Stage 1 (Pre-Proposal) Submission Deadline: 17 November 2025, 15:00 (CEST)
- Stage 2 (Full Proposal) Submission Deadline: 17 June 2026, 15:00 (CEST)
