Dear Researchers,
The 2026 Synergy Grant Call, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), is now open for applications. Proposals can be submitted until 5 November 2025.
🔬 This prestigious call aims for teams of 2-4 principal investigators (PIs) to collaborate across disciplines to develop groundbreaking projects with proven feasibility and potential for innovative and global impact. Participants are expected to submit project proposals that can create fundamental change in scientific fields, go beyond traditional approaches and are possible through synergy of expertise.
💶 Each project may receive between €10-14 million in funding, with an estimated total of 49 projects to be funded under this call.
🌍 There is no requirement for PIs to be based in different countries or institutions. Applications can be submitted from the same host institution, as long as the team brings together diverse and complementary expertise. Additionally, one PI from a third country (e.g., the USA, Australia, or Japan) outside the EU Member or Associated Countries may join the project and receive funding.
For researchers based in Türkiye, the TÜBİTAK ERC Baş Araştırmacı Geliştirme Programı (EBAG) is also open for applications. At least one of the PIs must be affiliated with a host institution in Türkiye to be eligible for the program.
