The European Commission will organise an online Info Day on 22 January 2026 to provide information on the calls under the “Widening participation and spreading excellence” Destination of the Horizon Europe WIDERA Work Programme 2026–2027.

The event will cover the following call topics: Teaming Synergies, Twinning, Hop-on Facility, Research Management Facility, ERA Fellowships, ERA Chairs and Research Managers, EIC Pre-Accelerator, and Excellence Hubs. Speakers from the European Commission will present each call topic, while representatives from the executive agencies will respond to participants’ questions submitted via the Slido platform using the code #WIDERA.

The Widening calls, the first of which opened as of January 2026, offer significant opportunities for collaboration and capacity building for universities, research organisations, research infrastructures, funding bodies, municipalities, civil society organisations, researcher associations, technology start-ups, incubators, and organisations active in the field of innovation.

In this context, all researchers at Istanbul Technical University who are planning to apply to the WIDERA calls or are interested in this area are strongly encouraged to attend the event.
